Cebu Pacific, Singapore Tourism Board renew partnership to fly every Juan to Singapore

Cebu Pacific (PSE: CEB), the Philippines’ leading airline, has strengthened its partnership with the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) to help travelers reimagine the Lion City and visit Singapore.

Cebu Pacific and Singapore Tourism Board executives
pose for a photo following the MOU signing.

CEB and STB previously signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) in April 2022 to mark the reopening of Singapore’s borders. With the successes of the past year, both parties today renewed the MOU to intensify their collaboration to promote travel to Singapore, which is one of the top-of-mind destinations for visitors from the Philippines. Key projects in this 2023 MOU will include joint marketing and promotions, and joint business development in the areas of fly-cruise and meetings and incentive corporate groups.

STB Executive Director for Southeast Asia John Conceicao and
Cebu Pacific Director for Marketing Michelle De Guzman join
Juliana Kua and Candice Iyog for the media Q&A.

“We are delighted to renew our partnership with Cebu Pacific, which contributed greatly to Singapore’s strong tourism numbers for 2022,” said Ms. Juliana Kua, Assistant Chief Executive for International Group, Singapore Tourism Board (STB). “Philippines is a key market for Singapore, and the attractive promotions from Cebu Pacific will be complemented by STB’s ‘SingapoRewards’ programme, which offers a free experience for every eligible tourist to Singapore.

SingapoRewards[1] is a new programme that will provide international visitors with an opportunity to try one of nearly 40 new or “off-the-beaten-path” experiences in Singapore for free, across the whole of 2023. CEB provides strong connectivity to Singapore as it currently flies from Manila, Cebu, Davao, and starting in April, from Clark, Pampanga.

“We value this partnership with the Singapore Tourism Board. With recovery in place and our growth plans set in motion, our main goal now is to fly every Juan to exciting destination such as Singapore and enjoy all the offering in this beautiful destination that we missed doing during the pandemic,” said Candice Iyog, Chief Marketing and Customer Experience Officer of Cebu Pacific.

CEB currently flies thrice daily between Manila and Singapore, providing passengers easy access to the Lion City, to experience its famous culinary scene, see its scenic spots, engage in thrill-seeking activities, or go shopping.

Passengers from the Visayas may also conveniently reach Singapore through Cebu Pacific’s daily flights from Mactan Cebu International Airport.

CEB will also increase its Singapore flights from Davao up to 4x weekly starting on March 26, 2023. Travelers from Northern Luzon will also have a new gateway as CEB starts its daily Clark – Singapore flight on April 28, 2023.

To spur travels to Singapore, CEB travelers can book their flights for as low as PHP499 one-way base fare, exclusive of surcharges and fees on March 13 until March 15, 2023. The travel period is from June 1 to November 30, 2023.

Passengers with existing Travel Funds may use these to pay for flights and other add-ons. Apart from the Travel Fund, other payment options such as payment centers, credit or debit cards, and e-wallets may also be used.

CEB now flies to 34 domestic and 25 international destinations, spanning across Asia, Australia, and the Middle East.

Cebu Pacific improves flexibility options for passengers: travel fund extended to two years, rebooking now unlimited

Leading Philippine carrier Cebu Pacific (CEB) has made improvements in its policies which will give passengers even more flexible booking options and peace of mind amidst travel concerns over the near term.

Travel Fund extended to two (2) years

Starting today, the Travel Fund will be valid for two (2) years. This can be used to book flights up to 12 months ahead, for as long as the transaction is made before expiration. Potentially, this means that customers can use their Travel Funds and fly in 2023.

The Travel Fund, or a virtual wallet with CEB equivalent to the full cost of the ticket, is an option that passengers can take if the flight was cancelled or if they wish to forego travel plans. Previously, the Travel Fund was valid for one (1) year, during which time, a passenger must use it to book a flight or pay for ancillary services such as baggage allowance.

For customers with existing Travel Funds, the two-year validity will be applied retroactively, or from the date the fund was created.

Unlimited rebooking of flights

Customers can now avail of unlimited rebooking of their flights, without paying any rebooking or change fees. Those who wish to forego travel plans or book new flights can rebook their flights as many times as possible. This will allow CEB customers to better manage their plans, depending on changes in travel restrictions or frequency of flights. Available for travel until November 30, 2020, a minimal fare difference may apply, depending on the travel date selected.

Options for passengers with cancelled flights

Passengers whose flights have been cancelled will continue to have the following options:  unlimited rebooking of flights within three months from the original travel date, at absolutely no cost to them—fees or fare difference are waived; availing of a full refund; or placing the full cost of the ticket in a Travel Fund, with a two-year validity.

These options are readily available and can be transacted by passengers through the “Manage Booking” portal in the Cebu Pacific website. Simply type-in the Booking Reference to access the booking online and make changes as necessary. Changes in bookings can be done up to two (2) hours before the flight.

Those who booked their CEB flights through travel agencies must transact with their respective agents.

Pinoy travelers looking to kick off their year of adventures with a trip to Lion City can find inspiration from the “Let’s Go Around Singapore Lah!” travel booklet – a specially-curated booklet created by the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) and Traveloka, the region’s leading digital travel, lifestyle, and financial services booking platform. The travel booklet was designed for tourists to discover more of Singapore’s hidden gems, popular attractions, and unique experiences. Filled with vouchers to help savvy tourists make the most of their trip, the travel booklets are up for grabs at Singapore Visitor Centres (SVCs) at Orchard gateway, Kampong Glam, and Funan.

From the hip, eclectic neighborhood in Kampong Glam to the biggest shopping malls along Orchard Road, Singapore has many exciting places for tourists to visit. Inspiring travelers to uncover some of these must-see attractions, the travel booklet directs tourists to locations across Singapore by using QR codes.

Within the travel booklet are many vouchers, amounting to S$15 each, along with fun facts, travel tips, and recommendations of Singapore’s best-kept secrets including lesser-known attractions and activities like the National Orchid Garden and the Tiger Brewery tour which can be booked from the Traveloka Xperience.

Since April 2019, STB and Traveloka have launched 6 campaigns across different countries to show the diverse and limitless possibilities in Singapore. The number of Singapore offerings on Traveloka’s platform has increased to over 200 product listings today.

“The Singapore Tourism Board is pleased to support Traveloka in promoting local offerings to visitors through the various SVCs. Southeast Asia is a key market for STB, with Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam consistently within Singapore’s top 15 visitor source markets,” said Mr. John Gregory Conceicao, Executive Director of Southeast Asia, Singapore Tourism Board. “Through this collaboration – and the larger STB-Traveloka MOC – we hope to encourage Southeast Asian visitors to spend more time in Singapore, and to explore offerings and experiences that they may not initially have been aware of.”

Terry Santoso, head of Marketing of Traveloka Xperience also shared, “This partnership further underscores Traveloka’s commitment to promoting tourism across the region. Since launching in Indonesia in 2012, Traveloka has evolved to become a discovery platform where Traveloka Xperience not only provides consumers with a way to book travel to their favorite destinations, but it also serves as a one-stop solution for consumers to enrich their journey through various engaging activities.”
